Our new project, Beneath Our Footsteps, will focus on a lost river of Leytonstone in London – Philley Brook (Phillebrook) – to explore local and social histories.
This summer, we will run a series of artist-led digital art activities, inviting residents to create a collaborative artwork exploring the Philley Brook river and celebrating the local heritage of Leyton and Leytonstone.
This will include a guided Digi Photo + Sound Walk following the Philley Brook path with local psychogeographer John Rogers and sound artist Brigitte Hart, a weekend of family-friendly 3D scanning workshops, plus a 3D scanning + sound session for neurodivergent young people aged 14 to 25 as part of Some Kind of Hack Space in collaboration with equalities designer and maker Natasha Trotman.
Objects, areas and sounds that participants capture during the activities will be included in an interactive, collaborative artwork to be exhibited in Leytonstone and online later this year.
So watch this space for the updates!
